in the midst of working, i found some old work i did previously. usually, i will cringe as time changes one's taste palate but i was oddly pleased with the finishing of that product photo. so i thought of sharing it... what do you think?

we actually brought in more colours then what you see on the above shot. maybe i should do an update...

p.s. these are only some of the selection. we are also clearing stock for other items. feel free to drop by at our shop (and remember to take a look at our new display! tell us what you think about them!!!)

n.b. we re-upload the last photo to the correct product codes. (;

awesome! we managed to link our blog and pinterest to facebook!

we have been away digitally but our physical selves are hard at work. (: (: (: trust us when we say that many good stuff are queuing for you... (: watch this space and you won't be disappointed.

meanwhile, take some time to look at our current obsession - pinterest. it's a handy app on iphone which is a super easy and fun to use to organize images online into inspiration/mood/theme boards. if only we can use this for all projects! like a client requests a theme and you pin all relevant images to pinterest and send her the link!  super handy and fun for busy you and me.

p.s. let's hope this post appears on facebook so we know it works...

velvet ribbons have always been quite a popular choice in creating that luxurious finish to that christmas or wedding gifts. i love the fashion inspiration behind the gift wrap below; the mash up of the bright coral velvet ribbon with the bling bling glitter.

these houses remind me of our woven/printed stripe ribbons and i am pretty sure i will be super happy to return home to such a cheerful looking quaint house. sweet isn't it?

i am now very tempted to source or create a "grass" ribbon after seeing the following house...
grass-covered house from here: Frohnleiten - Austria
what did you think about when you see these chairs? reminds me of plaids, gingham and stripe ribbons... odd how i can associate these patterns to our ribbons... (:

we love it how the different designs from all walk of life and products remind us of our ribbon...

i've been looking at some beautiful weddings these holidays. realized that ribbon fringes (coined it myself as i don't know how else to describe it) are in trend for many weddings.

for someone who prefers quick and easy solution anytime over pure aesthetics, i think this is a simple solution for wedding decoration. you just need the ribbons, a pair of scissors and probably a pole for you to loop the ribbons around it. depending on the colour palettes chosen, you will also be able to articulate your wedding theme.

for those of you who don't know... Kin Soon joined this year's Gift and Premium Fair 2011 at Sands. during old times, we used to join trade fairs and exhibitions at the old world trade centre (now Harbourfront). it's been a long time since we did it and we are now back at it!

we are thankful for the experiences and lessons we have from this fair.

this exhibition is our first but it won't be our last. we want to share with others our ribbon loves.

where are we?

time to revive this dead blog. just to let those who are still looking at this space, we are still here! it's just that we have been expanding rapidly in our product range that most resources are devoted to sourcing and repacking that we neglected this space.

let's just get our engine started again. (:

if you notice, we have added a Facebook button on the right hand column. "Like" us if you love ribbons!

buttons and ribbons = happiness

28.1.10 ♥♥♥♥ another note from KSMINTON | blogging about , , 0 comments

it's 2010. a brand new year to start... with buttons! what's the relationship between buttons and ribbons? infinite fun in crafting! especially with the funky prints we have below:

the wooden material provides a rustic feel to the buttons. the playful prints of flowers reminds me of the flower power hippie times of the 60s. the colours of the flowers can be brought out with the use of red hues (red, maroon, burgundy, wine, purple... the list goes on) of ribbons.
similar wooden material with blue/purplish floral prints. i can picture the use of blue/green hues ribbons for that soothing combination of floral sea. my personal favourite will be using a mint green ribbon.
colourful concentric circles peppering around the lemon-coloured button.
wooden button with colourful butterflies fluttering here and there!
huge wooden buttons with psychedelic coloured prints
sweet pink butterfly on a simple wooden button.
rows of hearts printed on white acryllic buttons.

my favourite button! rainbow in a button! just looking at them makes me happy.
aqua, watermelon, cotton candy and mint dots on white acryllic buttons. a refreshing combination...
colourful stripes splatter across the buttons.
sweetheart! match it with white, ivory or pink shades ribbon for that perfect combination.
it looks quite alike to the previous button post except with brighter colours (somewhat louder).
red spots on yolk yellow. i am imagining it with bright red ribbon to bring out the spots! or orange?

argyle pattern of fuchsia, apple green and purple. the right concoction for a cheerful colour palette. (:
the flowers remind me of hibiscus and orchid. don't know why but they do. very pretty.
other than buttons, we also have an easy solution to add that needed festivity into plain ribbons... chinese character of prosperity for lunar new year decorations, hampers or gifts.
sweety treats for all!

that's all for this round of updates. changed the background for the shots. think 2010 is a good year to *experiment*
(: it is too late to say happy new year but just in time to say 恭喜发财,万事如意!

it's all about the ribbons

10.11.09 ♥♥♥♥ another note from KSMINTON | blogging about , , 0 comments

this entry is all about the ribbons. (:

what i love about them...

i love the scalloped edges. it's like lace yet not over-the-top...

who said check is boring? it never dies. another classic addition to ribbon collections.

i love...
the ruffles of course!
look a little closer and you can see heart shaped patterns cut-out. good for mixing and matching with other plain ribbons. adds a little love.

combination of fancy ribbons! any ribbon fanatic dream come true.

i love cotton ribbon. it has such a "raw" feel to it.

every christmas classic choice.

say colourful! adds a little colour to your gift.

layer this lace cut-out with another ribbon or use it as trimmings around your card.
i love imagining the use of this... just by looking at it!

metallic woven ribbon never fails to add that shine to your gift.
go crazy with these new additions.

like i said, get glamourous with this extra blingbling metallic ribbon
new baby designs for all new babies!

i love the tinsel.
add a tinge of festive mood to your gift by using this twisted cord, on its own or with a combination of other ribbon!

as with every entries, i have to say... i love my ribbons.
